We cashed a 20* Main Event winner on Rhode Island in their easy win against Creighton on Friday and the surging URI Rams are worth another bet today even as they take a step up in class against the Oregon Ducks. Not many teams played better basketball than Rhode Island over the last month of the season. The Rams are red hot on an 9-0 SU, 7-2 ATS run in their last 8 games including an Atlantic 10 Tournament title run to ensure their spot in the NCAA Tournament and Friday's opening round win. The key to the late season surge is the fact the Rams finally got healthy with all their starters on the floor at the same time allowing them to achieve the chemistry and cohesion that we expected to see from them prior to the season when Rhode Island was absolutely in the NCAA Tournament discussion. Rhode Island is led by star junior guard E.C. Matthews, senior forward Hassan Martin and junior guard Jared Terrell who are the leading scorers all averaging in double figures. Oregon's defense is worse without Chris Boucher and it has shown as Arizona shot well against them in the PAC-12 Tournament title game and Iona shot 44% against them and Oregon had to barely eke out a pointspread cover in that game. Rhode Island is playing defense every bit as good if not slightly better than Oregon right now and I expect that to be enough for the Rams to make it tough on the Ducks to win this game at all let alone by any type of margin.
